Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-10-06. Applies to Petuko, Coloroku and darkbulb.games.

The short version: our games work without an account, show no ads and contain no analytics or tracking. If you choose to make an account, we store only what is needed to keep your progress, on our own server in the EU.

Who we are

Dark Bulb Games by SiteOn, Lichttoren 32, 5611 BJ Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 17257645. Questions about your data: info@darkbulb.games.

Petuko without an account

Your solved cases and settings (music, sound, language) are stored only on your device. We don’t receive them, and nothing is sent to us.

Petuko with an account (optional)

If you sign in to keep your progress safe or sync it between devices, we store:

We use this only to sign you in and sync your progress (legal basis: performing the service you asked for, GDPR art. 6(1)(b)). It is stored on our own server in the EU. Sign-in emails are sent through SiteOn. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Deleting your account

In Petuko, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account and all progress stored with it straight away. Progress on your device stays until you remove the app.

Coloroku

Coloroku has no accounts. Your progress, scores and settings (skin, sound, music, vibration, appearance, language) are stored only on your device. We don’t receive them and nothing is sent to us. Coloroku shows no ads and contains no analytics or tracking.

This website

darkbulb.games uses no cookies, analytics or third-party services; fonts are served from our own server. Your language choice is remembered in your own browser only. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security, deleted after 14 days.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address and language, only to send you the newsletter. Sign-up works with double opt-in: you first get an email with a confirmation link, and only after clicking it are you added. Until then the address waits on our own server for at most 48 hours. The list is kept by our mail service Mailjet (Sinch, EU), which also sends the newsletter; every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you straight away. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). To block spam bots, the form uses ALTCHA: your browser solves a small calculation, without cookies or third parties.

Poll

On our home page you can vote in a monthly poll. We store only how many votes each answer gets: no name, account or cookie. To stop double voting, our server keeps a scrambled code made from your IP address in its working memory while the poll runs; it is never written to disk and disappears when the server restarts. Your browser remembers which answer you picked, in its own storage, so you see the results next time.

Pocola Catch demo

If you save a score in the Pocola Catch demo at /play/pocola, we store the nickname you choose, your score and the date on our own server in the EU, to show the daily leaderboard. You don’t have to use your real name. Scores are deleted after 7 days. To check that a score is real, our server keeps a scrambled code made from your IP address in its working memory during your round; it is never written to disk. The demo remembers your language and sound setting in your browser’s own storage.

Lexilight demo

Lexilight at /play/lexilight keeps your progress (stars, best scores, day streak, words to practise, language, sound and nickname) in your browser’s own storage; it never leaves your device. If you put a score on the leaderboard, we store the nickname you choose, the level, your score and the date on our own server in the EU, to show today’s and this week’s leaderboard. Scores are deleted after 14 days. To check that a score is real, our server keeps a scrambled code made from your IP address in its working memory during your level; it is never written to disk. The “Listen” button uses your browser’s own voice.

Proefreis demo

Proefreis at /play/proefreis sends nothing to us: your answers and result stay on your device. The game only remembers your language and sound setting in your browser’s own storage. The share button uses your own phone’s share function.

Cookies

darkbulb.games places no cookies. We keep two small notes in your browser’s own storage: the language you picked and that you’ve seen our cookie notice. They never leave your browser and aren’t used to follow you; you can clear them in your browser settings at any time. Because they only make the site work the way you asked, they need no consent. If you play the Petuko demo at /play/petuko, it keeps your demo progress and settings in your browser in the same way. If you vote in our poll, a third note remembers your answer.

Children

Petuko can be played by anyone without sharing personal data. An account needs an email address; children under 16 should ask a parent or guardian before making one.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@darkbulb.games. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority(Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
